Holly the Dog needs a home

Holly is a darling 1 yr. old Shih Tzu mix. She is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, no small children, no cats (she would find it fun to chase them) and no large dogs. She is a shy little girl until she gets to know you. Her foster mom is helping her to overcome her fears, but she is still wary of strangers. Holly is still very much a puppy. She loves to run and play, she plays so much with some of her toys that they fall apart. At home with her foster mom, she is a happy little girl.
Holly was a stray who had to be rescued from a sandbar on the river. She was very thin and covered in burs including one that scratched her eye. Removal of the burs caused Holly to have a very bad haircut when she came to us. She has been groomed very short to even out her coat, which is silky soft and will be just beautiful when it grows out. Holly is really cute, and very expressive. Because of her small size, she will not be placed in a home with small children.
Holly gets along well with other dogs her size and she has a sweet disposition. She is very gentle and loving, and she LOVES to be held and cuddled. She is a little timid in meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. Holly is house trained with supervision and does well in her crate.
